With over 40 years of experience, Fascination Hair & Fashion combines German tradition with Canadian aesthetics. We welcome men, women and children alike, and are trained to cater to all of your personal hair needs, from classic to modern haircuts, to highlights, colors, perms, styling and much more. Fascination Haircuts & Clothes uses primarily ‘Schwarzkopf’ products which can also be purchased in store.
Located in downtown Canmore, Alberta, our versatile salon offers a cultural experience with practical services. Fascination is a salon; however, we offer a myriad of other services and experiences: upon entering the salon you can expect to hear authentic German folk music; in waiting for your appointment, grab a slice of homemade cake and a warm beverage; on your weekend getaway to Canmore, stop by to purchase some homemade jam and other goodies.

About Me
My name is Ute von Essen. I was born in Hamburg, Germany, where I enjoyed an upbringing filled with rich German tradition and cuisine. Upon moving to Canada in 2013, I opened my salon Fascination Hair & Fashion, hoping to share my love and passion for my native culture with Canadians. After 8 years of operation, my salon has established a loyal customer base who has grown to love my services, which has only increased my love for my work. I spend my free time tending to my plants and flowers, baking and cooking for my friends and family, and travelling around the world. In the future, I hope to expand my business to include more of my favourite German dishes and beverages.
